Does this sound familiar?

Grandma's old recipe card says "butter the size of an egg" and "bake in a quick oven." You have no idea what that means.
Recipes online are buried under ads and pop-ups, in tiny print, and half of them don't turn out.
You miss the food you grew up with: a real pot roast, a warm biscuit, a slice of pie that tastes like home.
The children have moved out, and family-size recipes leave you with a week of leftovers.

This book was made for you. The old recipes are all here, with every step spelled out in plain words.

Jeanne, the brand character of Jeanne's Kitchen, smiling in a blue apron in a warm kitchen
Meet Jeanne, the face of our kitchen. She’s our brand character, a little tribute to all the grandmothers whose cooking we remember.

The story behind this book

It started with a cookbook more than a hundred years old. Its pages were full of family favorites, written for wood stoves, with directions like “butter the size of an egg,” “a teacup of yeast” and “bake in a quick oven.” The recipes were wonderful, but almost impossible to follow today.

So each one was worked out again. Every recipe now has cups and spoons, oven temperatures in °F and °C, and short, plain steps. Six more collections of classic home cooking were added: breads, pies, potatoes, rice and weeknight suppers. Each was checked and corrected until there were 187 recipes worth keeping.
